Style development, Design, Animation, EditingProduced for ID, “Who Took Misty Copsey” is a true crime podcast investigating a cold case that has gripped Washington for over 30 years. We designed accompanying show graphics for its premiere on YouTube to tell the story of a young girl who disappeared after a day at the county fair, leaving behind only questions.
Our creative direction reimagines the gritty detective board as a teenage bulletin board, blending investigation with innocence. We paired case evidence and polaroids with foil stars and colorful buttons, as if Misty had decorated it herself. The result is a jarring contrast: a youthful aesthetic that reveals a chilling reality upon closer inspection.
We crafted flexible, episode-agnostic visuals to maintain consistency across the series. By highlighting pivotal locations and artifacts through slow, cinematic camera pans, we built a seamless loop perfect for long-form listening. This allowed the visuals to support the narrative without distracting from the investigation's depth. Below is an episode preview.
